How to combine solar energy generation and agriculture? Putting solar panels on agricultural land usually means that the land can not be used for crops anymore. So that is not really a combination. A farmer in the Netherlands is experimenting with a real way of combining solar and agriculture by using riding solar panels. The panels drive with 5 meters per hour over the land. For the plants it is like a temporary cloud so the growth is barely reduced. The prototype also includes a drip system to water the plants. Now that is lateral thinking!
