The Nickel-Iron battery was invented by Edison about a hundred years ago. This battery produced an undesired by-product: hydrogen. Battolyser Systems sees the combined use of battery and electrolyser as an advantage. Their integrated system can store and supply electricity as a battery. When the battery is fully charged, the systems starts splitting water into oxygen and hydrogen with an efficiency of up to 90%. This double function makes continuous operation possible. The system is scalable, does not contain any rare elements and has a lifetime of more than 20 years.
